● More difficult to publish and to involve research groups
● But
● Very focused research on partial problems may never
get used
● Important to achieve success and to learn from
successful and unsuccessful real projects
● We need projects that start on the formal identification of
needs and finish in undoubtful success (5-10 years!) to
orientate the trends of ICT4D
