15. Nicene Creed
We believe in one God, the Father, the
Almighty, maker of heaven and earth, of all
that is seen and unseen.
We believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ, the only
Son of God, eternally begotten of the Father,
God from God, Light from Light, true God
from true God, begotten, not made, of one
Being with the Father.
16. Nicene Creed
Through Him all things were made. For us
men and for our salvation he came down from
heaven: by the power of the Holy Spirit he
was born of the Virgin Mary, and became man.
For our sake He was crucified under Pontius
Pilate; He suffered, died, and was buried. On
the third day he rose again in fulfilment of the
Scriptures; He ascended into heaven and is
seated at the right hand of the Father. He will
come again in glory to judge the living and the
dead, and his kingdom will have no end.
17. Nicene Creed
We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the
giver of life, who proceeds from the Father
and the Son. With the Father and the Son he
is worshipped and glorified. He has spoken
through the Prophets.
We believe in one Holy Catholic and Apostolic
Church.
We acknowledge one baptism for the
forgiveness of sins. We look for the
resurrection of the dead, and the life of the
world to come. Amen.

enriched by God with gifts appropriate to such a
role.” The angel Gabriel at the moment of the
annunciation salutes her as "full of grace”. In
fact, in order for Mary to be able to give the free
assent of her faith to the announcement of her
vocation, it was necessary that she be wholly
borne by God's grace. - CCC 490

54. ROSARY
After the apparitions of Our Lady at
Fatima in 1917, the prayer Mary taught to
the children has generally been added at
the end of each decade:
"O my Jesus, forgive us our sins, save
us from the fires of hell. Lead all souls to
heaven, especially those in greatest
need of Thy mercy."
55. ROSARY
Archbishop Fulton Sheen said,
"The rosary is the book of the blind, where
souls see and there enact the greatest drama
of love the world has ever known; it is the
book of the simple, which initiates them into
mysteries and knowledge more satisfying
than the education of other men; it is the book
of the aged, whose eyes close upon the
shadow of this world, and open on the
substance of the next. The power of the
rosary is beyond description."
56. THE ANGELUS
V. The Angel of the Lord declared unto Mary,
R. And she conceived of the Holy Spirit.
Hail Mary …...
V. Behold the handmaid of the Lord,
R. Be it done unto me according to Thy
Word. Hail Mary…..
V. And the Word was made flesh,

Let us pray
Pour forth , we beseech Thee, O Lord, Thy
grace into our hearts; that we, to whom

made known by the message of an angel,
may, by His passion and cross, be brought
to the glory of His Resurrection; through
the same Christ our Lord. Amen

That never was it know that anyone who fled to your

To you do I come, before you I stand, sinful and
sorrowful.
O Mother of the Word Incarnate. Despise not my
petitions. But in your mercy hear and answer me,
AMEN

66. Saints
• Holy persons (Latin “sanctus”-holy,
consecrated)
• St. Paul describes a believer as a saint and
routinely calls Christian communities saints.
( eg Eph 1:1; 2Cor 1:1).
67. •We are all one family in heaven and on
earth, united together, as children of the
Father.
Eph. 3:14-15-
•We are called to be saints. Saints refer
to both those on earth and in heaven
who are in Christ. 1 Cor. 1:2; Rom. 1:7 -
68. • Pope Pius XII –Encyclical on the Mystical
Body, said “it is the society of those who
have been baptized, and who profess the
faith of Christ, and who are governed by
their bishops under the visible head, the
Pope, the Bishop of Rome.”
• St. Paul speaks of all Christians as members
of Christ, so that with Him, they form one
Mystical Body (Cf. 1 Cor 12:12-31; Col 1:18;
2:18-20; Eph. 1:22-23; 3:19; 4:13)

of Saints)
70. This expression also refers to the communion
between holy persons (sancti); that is, between
those who by grace are united to the dead and
risen Christ. Some are pilgrims on the earth;
others, having passed from this life, are
undergoing purification and are helped also by
our prayers. Others already enjoy the glory of
God and intercede for us. All of these together
form in Christ one family, the Church, to the
praise and glory of the Trinity – CCC 961-962
71. For though we live in the world we
are not carrying on a worldly war,
for the weapons of our warfare are
not worldly but have divine power
to destroy strongholds.
