I don’tsee you guy’sanywhereIstead of what Martin Said I permit myself do some other than the status of open data in The Netherlands. I can be very short – we’redoing well!
We are four Open Data ‘dudes’ doinall kind of open data project – mainly for PSB’s in the Netherlands buralsoThoughout Europe. We deal withdataholders, information managers, ‘aldermans’ (google translate) and policy makers. We are the change agentswhoconvince PSB’s to be more open. and Paul Suijkerbuijk – AKN As The Sweater – alwayswearing an Open Data SweaterMarc de Vries – legal expert on open dataRun togetherwith Ton Zijlstra (you sawhim on the administrators list of datacataloques.org) and OKF the ePSI platform – and Ton is an European Opinion Leader and we want to continue that even whenthey do not run the portal anymore. My role is to replacethemwhentey are not able to join, anything, anywhere.
This was my first associationthis week whenpreparingthis presentation. There are twothings (1. I don’tseeany of you at OD, or you are ‘undercover’)2. I stilldon’tsee the signsthatgovernments have to do somethingwith it.My introduction, and in allthoseyears and project I’ve never felt the need for LOD in Open Data, the concept issimply not there, it’sunkknown, butalso not the missing link?SO in what domain, segment and by whom Linked Data will
Focus – for the frenchamong us Fukus. Because in these time – in government - it’sallaboutpriorities (restructuring) and money (savings)It seemsthatgoverment have to do somethingwithit, but I stilldon’tsee the sign.
And thenit’salso crisis – fortunately government are going to watchtheir wallet, they have to make priorities, to re-organise and save mony. I wouldlikeuse a metafoor with restaurants in crises! Especially the expensiveonewith more michlin stars. In the same time Tim Berners Lee makesthisreservation! And then in one or twoyear the samewith his star restaurants happen! Why is MichaulHauple wrong aboutthis? I wouldlike to ask you?
We focus on open! Why? Becausewhen we focus on data we put ourselfes out of the Open Gov community, The Open Society scene, The Open your business – BUT WE ARE PART OF IT!
We call ouself change agent, and where’s our focus? What’s is our strategy as change agents? We try to intervene in the government processes to open up governement – not only data but also mind, methods and manners.
Very important to be aware of the (expected) impactWe focus on the impact of data, in the Netherlands we’re on the road and moving. But! We believe most value is in the PSB and it’sprimarynerwork – 95% of governmental data is not suitable for commercial reuse by the marketThere’s a differencebetween ‘data as a business’ and ‘doing business with data’-
It’s not throwing the data over the gate anymore (terrible english) – ttbecomes more and more co-creating!
In the data landscape open gov data is just a small piece of the puzzle
There’s a big differencebetween ‘do somethingwith data’ and ‘solvingproblems’Vaak hyperlocal – what doesthismean in practice – not onlypublishing data and make an app? No, be part of the group of stakeholders who are co-working on the solution.Challenge for soren: howcan the CSV2PDF WIKI support this ‘hyperlocal’ issues?

Open government, open businessBecause open data support their goals in a very practical wayWhere are the decisionmakers?
What’s the dutch government doing?
Waze! Waze is the world'sfastest-growing community-based traffic and navigation app. We’re on a revolution of data gathering! The human sensor
