36. Positive feedback…

“good time” to the visitor = will remember positively
the destination

schemes
• Museums: great service because it provides a
surprisingly deep way to engage with art
• Museums: reaches out to new audiences!
• User/visitor: we love it, because it is fun!
40. The Design Pilot has four main strands
of activities:
" 1. Design prototype that offers an online tool to search and
explore content in Europeana through colours, patterns and
forms instead of more traditional text based search provided
by the current Europeana portal.
" 2. Design experiments and examples that aim to stimulate
and inspire professional designers, artists and practitioners
– and creative industries in general – to creatively re-use of
Europeana content.
41. The Design Pilot has four main strands
of activities:
" 3. Facilitation of digital fabrication and hands on workshops
under the theme “Redesign your culture” where practitioners
and designers can explore the open digital cultural heritage
accessible via Europeana, and create together new designs
and artefacts.
" 4. Organizing an Open Culture event and exhibition that is
organized in collaboration with The National Gallery of
Denmark (SMK).
47. Idea!
How to create a design tool for
intuitive use? A tool different from
other word search based tools? A
tool that makes it easy and intuitive
for designers and artists to browse
and explore the Europeana archive?
59. Benefits/aims of Culture Cam tool:
" Simple and easy to use
" Tactile and intuitive
" Word search free
" Playful by the use of webcam
" Easy acces to Europeana archive
" inspirational “unexpected” search results
" invites to look closer into Europeana content

63. Idea!
Could we somehow bring Culture
Cam to the people? Remove
Europeana from the digital
platform into a tactile, emotional
and immersive space?
64. Concept!
Development of an interactive
installation – an exhibition
version of the Culture Cam tool
– inviting people to browse and
explore Europeana content in a
spatial, experience-based way
65.
66.
67.
68.
69. Benefits/aim of the Culture Cam installation:
" meets the user with an experience-based (fun,
fascinating, intriguing) version of the Europeana
archive
" demonstrates how to reuse and work creatively
with european cultural heritage

the digital tool
" promotes in overall Europeana in an unusual
way
