11. WAT IS EEN CLUSTER ?
= samenwerkingsverband tussen bedrijven, gericht op kennisuitwisseling
en/of –verwerving, met als doel innovatieve business development
= van grote/losse communities (typ. > 10 bedrijven) tot kleine/hechte
consortia (typ. 4-6 bedrijven)
= Innovatiecentra zijn facilitator/bemiddelaar van voorbereiding, over
oprichting van cluster tot/met nazorg
= horizontaal (concullega-bedrijven met gemeenschappelijke
problematiek en 1+1 >2) of vertikaal (complementaire
bedrijven/waardeketen in
innovatieve samenwerking)
= quadruple helix eco-system

12. DOEL EN AARD VAN EEN
CLUSTER
- Clusters hebben tot doel het stimuleren van productiviteitsverhoging,
innovatie binnen de cluster en het oprichten van nieuwe
ondernemingen
- Multidisciplinair, overstijgt sectorale grenzen. Grootste
vernieuwingen bevinden zich op de grensvlakken van
verschillende disciplines: vb. medisch – ICT, bouw-
energie
- Samengesteld uit representatieve groep bedrijven van de beoogde
industrie

13. NUT VAN CLUSTERVORMING
Clusters beïnvloeden de competitieve positie op drie fronten
- productiviteitsverhoging
- innovatie bij de ondernemingen binnen de cluster
- het oprichten van nieuwe ondernemingen
Met als doel:
- verwerven van “competitief voordeel”, dat ontstaat door het
pro-actief inspelen op maatschappelijke en economische
uitdagingen door het creëren van vernieuwende oplossingen
- kleine bedrijven uit sub-kritisch niveau halen
- totaaloplossingen aanbieden voor alle aspecten van bepaald
product/sector
