Intro – My name is Zach / This is Troy, we’re students in the ios-002 class here at Flatiron.
Today we’re going to tell you a bit about a proof of concept tool for developers that we are building.
Our presentation is called “Parsing JSON” – so that begs the question – how many of you are familiar with JSON?
Good, the majority, as I expected, given you are all developers. But for those of you who don’t know, a little introduction first.
What is JSON? JSON is a common data format for information you will glean from internet sources. It works on the same principles as a basic outline, as you were taught in high school, except, instead of numbers and letters denoting the various levels of the hierarchy, all you get is opening and closing braces and brackets denoting the beginning and ending of each “level”.
