Unit 3 Reflection
In Unit 3, I comprehended that speaking tests have several
specifications; the ones we used were Luoma’s (2004). In this specification we
should have a clear thought of which is the test’s purpose, the type of students
we are going to assess, which level will the test have, the type of construct, the
construction of the task (parts, timing, weighting), the target language, the text
types, text length, The elements that are going to be test (Fluency, grammar
accuracy, turn taking, intonation), The method of the test, the rubric to assess
the speaking test.
Furthermore, we have to follow Fulcher’s specification, which is
related to the task orientation, the interactional relationship between raters and
test takers, the goal orientation, the interlocutor status and familiarity with the
test takers.
