4. Agitprop Agitprop is a style of art used by Jamie Reid. Its name portmanteau of the words “Agitation” and “Propaganda” and ori ginated in Soviet Russia by communists to describe their ways of enforcing. Jamie Reid’s art for the single “God Save The Queen by the “Sex Pistols”. It was voted #1 Cover Art of all time by “Q Magazine” and described as “The single most iconic image of the ‘punk era’”
5. Jamie Reid was born in England in 1952. He was educated at John Ruskin Grammar School in Croydon. With Malcolm McLaren (who went on further to become manager of the Sex Pistols), he took part in a sit-in at Croydon Art School. He now resides in Liverpool and his former partner was actress Margi Clarke with whom he has a daughter.

Jamie Reid’s most popular work is for the ‘70s punk band the “Sex Pistols”, in which he did every single cover and of course their one album cover “Never Mind The Bollocks, Here’s The Sex Pistols”. His covers are known for their very controversial nature, such as defacing a picture of the Queen of England by putting Swastikas in her eyes, which is considered treason.
7. Jamie Reid moved from the punk and protesting style of the Sex Pistols, and worked for a band that was almost completely different, Afro Celt Sound System. Their music genre is described as “world music”.
8. Jamie Reid is known for his controversial takes on huge name brands such as Virgin and defacing with swastika’s and marijuana. As you can tell, his art can very contrasting, from very crudely drawn symbols to very sophisticated vivid satire.
