3. This presentation will show you how to renew your own books online. Loans and renewals are processed in the ALEPH system … so you need to open ALEPH

4. Go to the Libraries web site: http://www.lib.uct.ac.za

5. Open the Libraries web site: http://www.lib.uct.ac.za Click on Catalogue (ALEPH)

6. When ALEPH opens, click on Sign-in

7. SMTJOH001 ........ Log in using your student / staff numberand your ALEPH password

8. SMTJOH001 ........ Log in using your student / staff numberand your ALEPH password Your default ALEPH password is your date of birth in the format YYYYMMDD

9. This will take you to your personal account in ALEPH: My Library Card

11. a list of the books you have requested

13. Once you get the list, you can renew all your books at once by clicking on Renew All

14. Or you can renew a specific book by clicking on its number in the list

15. Then click on Renew to extend your loan period for that book

16. And remember to sign out by clicking onEnd Session
