FATHER’S DAY
Warm and sunny day in June,
Father’s Day,
Children, small and grown,
Give gifts to father
Say thanks to father,
Say I love you.
But there are fathers
whose children are not here
to give gifts and say thanks
And I love you.
Remember the fathers
whose children are gone,
because they will always be
Fathers at heart.

7. CAMP GOOD GRIEF (SVP)
Camp Good Grief-Special Victims Program (SVP) is a joint efort between the San Bernardino County District
Attorney's Office Bureau of Victim Services and Loma Linda University Medical Center Children's Hospital. The 3-
day grief camp is geared toward homicide/suicide and is for children ages 10-16 who have experienced a violent
death in their family. Campers board a bus at the Ronald McDonald House in Loma Linda and head to Camp Cedar
Falls in the San Bernardino Mountains for a three-day camp and grief therapy experience.
At camp the children participate in game and team building activities and therapeutic group activities designed to
help them learn and understand how to cope with the grief over the violent death of their loved one. This camp
has been so successful that it has been expanded to include Camp Good Grief - Special Victims Program Teen
Retreat. It will be held annually and provides grief services for teens ages 14-18 who previously participated in
Camp Good Grief - SVP and whose lives have been positively impacted by camp. It will be a combination of
learning advanced grief management skills as well as a training camp for future Camp Good Grief Peer Counselors.
Camp is free of charge to all campers and camperships are funded by unclaimed victim restitution. Therapists and
interns from Loma Linda Marriage and Family Therapy Clinic, Loma Linda Child Life Specialists and District
Attorney's Office Victim Advocates donate their time to the camp.
The Bureau of Victim Services and Loma Linda University Children's Hospital have pledged to continue fundraising
activities, presentations to service groups, and outreach events so they may continue hosting future Camp Good
Grief-SVP programs. Contact: Dorothy Brooks 909-558-4073
Don't Cry for Me Daddy
Don't cry for me Daddy,
I'm right here.
Although you can't see me
I see your tears.
I visit you often,
I go to work with you each day,
And when it's time for you
to close your eyes ,
On your pillow is where I lay.
I hold your hand &
stroke your hair,
And whisper in your ear.
If you're sad today Daddy,
Remember, I am here.
God took me home.
This we know is true.
But you'll always be My Daddy
Even though I'm not with you.
We will never be apart,
For everytime you think of me,
Please know I'm in your Heart..........

8. Justice for Michele Rene (Necochea) Flores.
Stop the Parole Release of Jonathan G Flores
On July 15, 1996, Michele Rene (Necochea) Flores had left her home to go to the
bank to get money before going to get food for her two children. She never
returned home. Michele was missing for three days. On July 18, 1996, her badly
decomposed body was found in the trunk of her car, at the airport in Tijuana,
Mexico. Her estranged husband, Jonathan G. Flores fled to avoid capture. He was
apprehended on July 21, 1996, trying to cross the border into Texas. He was
extradited back to California to face charges. Jonathan was charged and convicted
of 1st degree murder and sentenced to 25 years to life. Prior to Michele's
disappearance, there was history of domestic violence and spousal abuse charges
including death threats made against Michele. All evidence and testimony at trial
proved that Jonathan was guilty of the murder of Michele. He had planned to kill
Michele days, even weeks before he committed the murder and his actions showed
he tried to cover up the crime in efforts to get away with this heinous crime.
Jonathan’s father, Frank Flores was also charged with accessory to murder. He was
given a plea bargain of 5 months’ time served. It was my understanding he was
given a plea-bargin due to his health. Frank is still alive today. Jonathan will have
only served 20 1/2 years when he is considered for parole.
Please help us keep this murderer behind bars.

A 20yr. old SoCal Gas Co. Meter Reader,
Fatally Shot in the Line of Service in Rialto, CA
On Tuesday May 4, 2016 our Dad, Alfred O. Marin, passed away unexpectedly, but
peacefully. He was embraced at the Gates of Heaven by The Love of his life, Our Mom
Genevieve, his parents, three siblings, and grandchildren Jennifer and Alex. Dad lived a
wonderful 89 years, he was 9 days away from his 90th birthday. Our family was excited
about his upcoming surprise birthday party planned for May 15th
. Dad was surrounded
by love the last 48hours not only by me and my six siblings, but also by his grandchildren,
and great grandchildren who came by to say their last goodbyes. I know he felt the
presence of all the love we all felt for him. Dad was all about his family and loved all of
his grandkids, great grandkids, and great-great grandkids.
My last 30minutes I spent with him were special, I asked him to give my mom and Jen a
Forever Hug, and I knew he could hear me. On behalf of our family, thank you for all
the kind thoughts, cards, and prayers via email, text and FB messages we received.
Thank you to our FFMV family who attended his services which were held on his birthday on May 13th.
Thoughtfully Rose Madsen & Rita Marin (West End Chapter Leader)
Father’s Day is quickly approaching this will be a very difficult day, I will be thinking of all Dads on Father’s
Day and especially Dads who have lost their children or dads to violence.
I will take a deep breath and pray for a peaceful day for all Dads!
My beautiful Jen…..I can no longer…See you with my eyes…Touch you with my hands…
But I will feel you in my heart….Forever…Love, Mom
