(presenti o assenti) comunicano senza parole.”

Conan Doyle L’avventura dei danzatori (The Adventure of
the Dancing Men), l’onnisciente Sherlock Holmes decodifica

From the Seven Days di Karlheinz Stockhausen è una partitura
From the Seven Days of Karlhein Stockhausen is a score rather
atypic, from the moment that is only formed by text.
A succession of indications due by the compositor to play
music from the rhythm of own heart or think flood. It’s
certainly the work most visionary of this composer, convinced
that the electromagnetic waves go over with the own effect

influence the mental state. This manifest is the syntesis of the

A Room is a minimalist work, born still before that was struck

the experimnts of the Futurists to the Sonic Youth, as exist a
indissoluble connection between John Cage and the Talking
Heads and in general the New Wave, passing for La Monte
Young and Fluxus. The red yard in question we can call it
minimalism, and, in the case of futurists, noise. The manifest
was imagined as composed with a stencil, that determine the
repetitiveness of a module, a sign. The repetitiveness, besides,
it’s determined from the repetiotion of the same words,
syllables, letters.

altro dall’ascolto dell’opera stessa.
The score of this operas is formed by 9 groups of notes
that can be read and executed in any sequence.
While the first manifest represent the operas because

the listening of the same operas. The isolation of letters,

in the first manifest. Here the presence of “vibrant” letters yet
is related really at the sound.

“Stars produce huge sounds”: Sternklang is one of the most
charming works of Stockhausen, a operas feasible in the open
air in a starry night, that musical matter derives from the
contellation’s study. Result therefore simple understand the
letter’s disposition, putting in the way to form a constellation.
Besides Stern mean star, therefore the letters that compose
it must signify brightness, height and intensity of sounds as
well, through the splitting of the same letters.
The word klang, instead, mean really “sound”, therefore in this
case the alphabet must express the vibration of the sound.

l’opera, come molte altre dell’autore, è stata composta,
The Bussotti’s manifest is related to the way where the operas,
as many others of the author, was composed, that is though
that the same compositor defined Pictography.
The Bussotti’s stave is literally invaded of signs that allude
to the sound and the the signs for produce it as well.
An other operation of Bussotti is that to delete the stave,
generating a new family of signs, as a cutback, like Fontana
that tear the canvas. This operation was given attributing to
the letters the same color of the background, “holing” in this
way the score.

blu”, mentre Cage in Water Music chiede all’esecutore di
In the score exist the indication of the cut of the strings “with
final loud noise”. It’s one of the experiments used in the “new
music” to produce new sonorities, before considered noise.
Many are the indications that the compositors suggest to
esecutors though the scores, above all in the author’s notation
of action, and frequently are most peculiars of this, given by
Bussotti. Kagel in fact ask for example to play the notes “doing
swing a blue whale”, while Cage in Water Music ask to the
esecutor to decant water from one bowl to other.
In the manifest there are both the scissors and the cut stings
from that to produce the “big loud noise”, that was interpreting
with the lettering.

Quest’opera offre
4’33” of John Cage is no doubt the most renowned and
innovative operas of the american compositor and estabilish
the top of his thought as to the silence of music. This operas
offer numberless cues of representations. In the way of the
visual poetry an author, Eugen Gomringer, represented the
silence like absence of the word “silencio” in an aligned
disposition of various “silencio”. The absence of one of this
in the center represent the graphic expression of the concept.
Taking again in part this peculiar representation, I had put
instead to mean the absence a white rectangle that emerge
from the remainder. Besides the word “silenzio” is repeated,
halved and superimposed with a modify of letters that
compose it. Some of this in fact, like the “N”, the “Z” and the
“O”, become blots that delete, and therefore cancel, the sound.
