2. Introduction to Aadhaar-1
• Aadhaar is a 12 digit individual identification number
issued by the Unique Identification Authority of India
on behalf of the Government of India.
• All Indian citizens, irrespective of age and gender, can
enrol for Aadhaar.
• Aadhaar serves as a proof of identity and address and
also many Public and Private Services will only be
provided to Aadhaar Card holders.

3. Introduction to Aadhaar-2
• Aadhaar ID will be used when applying for Ration
card, Passport or any ID. It will not replace these ID's.
• Aadhaar holder does not need to carry multiple ID
and address proof. Instead the Aadhaar card will be
sufficient for all needs like opening bank a/c, applying
for electricity/ gas/ mobile connection etc.
• Most of the underprivileged Indians lack any ID
documents. Aadhaar will be their first ID. However,
the urban & rich Indians have their share of benefits
also.

4. Public & Private Services with Aadhaar-1
• Aadhaar based payment scheme enables to perform
banking transactions like balance enquiry, cash
withdrawal, cash deposit and Aadhaar to Aadhaar
funds transfer.
• Pension disbursement to widow, old age, government
employee pensioners will be done through Aadhaar.
• Government scholarships will be directly credited to
beneficiary bank account.

• LPG and Kerosene Gas subsidy will be credited to
bank account of Aadhaar holders only.
• All Central & State Government subsidy and cash
schemes will be transferred to bank account of Aadhar
