4. 1 COR. 15:54-57
When perishable has been clothed with
the imperishable, and the mortal with
immortality, then the saying that is
written will come true: Death has been
swallowed up in Victory. Where oh death
is your victory? Where is your sting? The
sting of death is sin and the power of sin
the law. But thanks be to God! He gives
us Victory through our Lord Je-sus
Christ.
5. Many Christians VICTORY means when
we get OUR will, or OUR desires, or
when God solves some problem for US.
Others are teaching that victory is a
matter of preaching the gospel into new
areas, and that is it.
6. In reality, VICTORY means God getting
His will to His glory, not simply in my life,
but OVER ME personally. Any less than
this it really isnât complete victory in
Christ Jesus
14. 2 KINGS 2:1-12
1 When the LORD was about to take
Elijah up to heaven in a whirlwind, Elijah
and Elisha were on their way from
Gilgal.
2 Elijah said to Elisha, "Stay here; the
LORD has sent me to Bethel." But
Elisha said, "As surely as the LORD
lives and as you live, I will not leave
you." So they went down to Bethel.
15. 2 KINGS 2:1-12
3 The company of the prophets at Bethel
came out to Elisha and asked, "Do you
know that the LORD is going to take
your master from you today?" "Yes, I
know," Elisha replied, "but do not speak
of it." 4 Then Elijah said to him, "Stay
here, Elisha; the LORD has sent me to
Jericho." And he replied, "As surely as
the LORD lives and as you live, I will not
leave you." So they went to Jericho.
16. 2 KINGS 2:1-12
5 The company of the prophets at
Jericho went up to Elisha and asked
him, "Do you know that the LORD is
going to take your master from you
today?" "Yes, I know," he replied, "but do
not speak of it."
6 Then Elijah said to him, "Stay here; the
LORD has sent me to the Jordan." And
he replied, "As surely as the LORD lives
and as you live, I will not leave you." So
the two of them walked on.
17. 2 KINGS 2:1-12
7 Fifty men of the company of the
prophets went and stood at a distance,
facing the place where Elijah and Elisha
had stopped at the Jordan.
8 Elijah took his cloak, rolled it up and
struck the water with it. The water
divided to the right and to the left, and
the two of them crossed over on dry
ground.
18. 2 KINGS 2:1-12
9 When they had crossed, Elijah said to
Elisha, "Tell me, what can I do for you
before I am taken from you?" "Let me
inherit a double portion of your spirit,"
Elisha replied.
10 "You have asked a difficult thing,"
Elijah said, "yet if you see me when I am
taken from you, it will be yours--
otherwise not.â
19. 2 KINGS 2:1-12
11 As they were walking along and talking
together, suddenly a chariot of fire and
horses of fire appeared and separated
the two of them, and Elijah went up to
heaven in a whirlwind.
12 Elisha saw this and cried out, "My
father! My father! The chariots and
horsemen of Israel!" And Elisha saw him
no more. Then he took hold of his own
clothes and tore them apart.(NIV)
20. JOB 42:10
10 After Job had prayed for his friends,
the LORD made him prosperous again
and gave him twice as much as he had
before.(NIV)
21. JOB 42: 12-17
12 The LORD blessed the latter part of
Job's life more than the first. He had
fourteen thousand sheep, six thousand
camels, a thousand yoke of oxen and a
thousand donkeys.
13 And he also had seven sons and
three daughters.
14 The first daughter he named
Jemimah, the second Keziah and the
third Keren-Happuch.
22. JOB 42: 12-17
15 Nowhere in all the land were there
found women as beautiful as Job's
daughters, and their father granted them
an inheritance along with their brothers.
16 After this, Job lived a hundred and
forty years; he saw his children and their
children to the fourth generation.
17 And so he died, old and full of
years.(NIV)
23. GENESIS 26:12-14
12 Isaac planted crops in that land and
the same year reaped a hundredfold,
because the LORD blessed him.
13 The man became rich, and his wealth
continued to grow until he became very
wealthy.
14 He had so many flocks and herds and
servants that the Philistines envied
him.(NIV)
24. When we talk of double portion the first
thing we could remember is Elisha
because he ask for it and he got it.
25. But before he got there is process that
he went through and all who got the
double por-tion in the Bible passes the
same or similar situation as well.
26. Three stories in the Bible have four
things in common when they got a
double portion.
31. 1 KINGS 19:19-21
19 So Elijah went from there and found
Elisha son of Shaphat. He was plowing
with twelve yoke of oxen, and he himself
was driving the twelfth pair. Elijah went
up to him and threw his cloak around
him. 20 Elisha then left his oxen and ran
after Elijah. "Let me kiss my father and
mother good-by," he said, "and then I
will come with you." "Go back," Elijah
replied. "What have I done to you?â
32. 1 KINGS 19:19-21
21 So Elisha left him and went back. He
took his yoke of oxen and slaughtered
them. He burned the plowing equipment
to cook the meat and gave it to the
people, and they ate. Then he set out to
follow Elijah and became his
attendant.(NIV)
36. 2 KINGS 2:2
2 Elijah said to Elisha, "Stay here; the
LORD has sent me to Bethel." But
Elisha said, "As surely as the LORD
lives and as you live, I will not leave
you." So they went down to Bethel.(NIV)
39. 2 KINGS 2:4
Then Elijah said to him, "Stay here,
Elisha; the LORD has sent me to
Jericho." And he replied, "As surely as
the LORD lives and as you live, I will not
leave you." So they went to
Jericho.(NIV)
41. 2 KINGS 2:6
Then Elijah said to him, "Stay here; the
LORD has sent me to the Jordan." And
he replied, "As surely as the LORD lives
and as you live, I will not leave you." So
the two of them walked on.(NIV)
