The Pohick Creek Tributary at Greentree Village Park Stream Restoration project included restoration of approximately 2,500 linear feet of stream using Natural Channel Design. The project enhanced and stabilized the degraded stream channel, bed and bank, provided water quality benefits and aesthetics, and prevented further erosion. The project includes in-stream structures, realignment of a portion of the channel, engineered regenerative mix to promote groundwater recharge, fiberglass pedestrian bridge, and the re-establishment of the riparian buffer with native species.

Description:
The Pohick Creek Tributary at Greentree Village Park Stream Restoration project has been substantially completed. This project
included restoration of approximately 2,500 linear feet of stream using Natural Channel Design, enhancing and stabilizing the
degraded stream channel, bed and bank to stabilize, enhance and provide water quality benefits and aesthetics and prevent
further erosion. The project includes in-stream structures, realignment of a portion of the channel, engineered regenerative mix
to promote groundwater recharge, fiberglass pedestrian bridge, and the re-establishment of the riparian buffer with native
species.
Water Quality Benefits:
Removal of approximately 818 pounds of total phosphorus per year
Removal of 2,258 pounds of total nitrogen per year
Removal of 281,434 pounds of total suspended solids per year
