The Dead Run Drive Outfall Restoration project in Fairfax County, VA involved restoring 60 linear feet of eroded channel near Dead Run Drive. Description:
The Dead Run Outfall Restoration Project was substantially completed on August 27, 2018. The
project consisted of the restoration of 60 linear feet of eroded channel. The goals of the
project were to address public safety concerns, stabilize an eroded channel by using natural
channel design techniques, and promote the growth of native vegetation.
Project Overview:
 Restore the outfall channel with imbricated stone step pools and reinforced bed mix riffle
sections
 Stabilize channel banks using coir matting and native vegetation
 Revegetate disturbed areas with native plants, trees, and shrubs to promote reforestation
