Explain background of why this presentation is being presented: Establishment of the Tysons TMA and discussion with BOS, effectiveness of TDM, and what FCDOT has done.
TDM are strategies (maybe substitute with solutions) that reduce single occupancy vehicles on the road. They include alternative modes of transportation, i.e. Fairfax Connector Buses, Metrorail and bus service, VRE, bicycle use, walking, van/carpools, etc. as well as compressed work weeks, teleworking, alternative working schedules. Essentially moving people in a more environmental friendly and sustainable.
However, the strategies are tailored by program. For instance, compressed work weeks, teleworking, alternative working schedules would apply to the Employer Outreach program. The Commuter-friendly Communities program entails active alternative modes for a means of travel not only to and from work but also to run errands, i.e. using Fairfax Connector to the local movie theatre.

Vehicle Trip Reduction Goals: (Proffer or negotiation of development) Per compliance plan; adopted by Board
Range based access to transit, urban accessibility, size and type of development and level of TDM participation
Need to talk about when we determine Proffers (reviewing site plans), who we work with (always good to mention collaboration of efforts, DPZ, Clients, lawyers, etc.), how we determine % reductions (proximity to TOD, Residential/Commercial/Office, etc.) and touch briefly on Sq. ft.
1. What other $ contributions could possible be made?
2. Confirm a contribution for shuttle service…
3. Speak to the process of money flow perhaps…?
Full, medium, & light
Elements in program
Creative/flexibility to achieve set trip reduction goal
Cost is less than previous TDM Proffers, so cost saving to developer/client.
