2. Introduction The course this year in media has been extremely challenging for me personally. This is because I am far from the technology “type” of student, I prefer theory work which consists of a paper and a pen (the traditional ways). At the beginning of the course I didn’t have a clue on any editing programs or even what an embedded code was. Blogging was also a great challenge for me as, before this I had never heard of what a blog was let alone how to create one. So this course has challenged me in ways I would have never imagined however I do believe the aftermath of all this, is that I am a much more confident media student in displaying my work in not only in paper and pen form but also now in technology.

3. What if? When we was informed we had to use the Mac's for our coursework initially I was not positive at all. However once we was told our briefs it made perfect sense in using Mac’s. This is only because how else would be edit a footage if we didn’t have a Mac or any type of computer? In the past people used to hold the film out and with a razor blade actually cut the footage they did not want and then place the film they wanted together. However if we were to do that it would be time consuming and the editing would not be as professional as they are today in the industry.

4. The next type of technology/equipment we used was a camera which needed a fire wire to upload footage. We learnt that a hard-drive camera was not the right camera to use, as the footage we shot would not upload on to the Mac. However if we were to film all over again and did not for some reason have access to a camera and the only cameras which were available would be hard drive but we would have to set up a separate program which is also very time consuming. This leads me onto the use of a Tripod. A tripod helped a tremendous amount whilst filming, this was because with the music genre we had needed clear sharp shots and so the footage we captured had to be perfectly framed. If I didn’t have access to a tripod I would have had to film freehand which meant the shots would not have been as steady or tightly framed. Which as a result would not have looked as professional.

5. The next equipment (well a program) we used was final cut express. If we didn’t have any access to this program we would have had to use Adobe premier which is no where near the standards of final cut. I believe, as it has more effects and you can cut the exact point where the unwanted footage is, unlike adobe where u have to delete the whole entire clip, in the end if creates a more professional look, which has continuous editing. In design and Photoshop was used to create the digi-pakand manipulate the pictures if we weren't able to use programs like these we would have had to use paint which would not have been able to hold the professional look and we would not have been able to erase all the flaws in photos to perfection like Photoshop does. If we did not have access to dreamwever to we would not have been able to create a website and so would have had to just create a music advert instead.

6. FEEDBACK- EQUIPMENT It wouldn’t have been possible to get instant feedback if we didn’t have the internet. It would also be extremely expensive buy record companies to promote there bands by only just concerts and gigs without advertising them via youtubeor on social networks such as facebook. In order to actually receive feedback in the first place we needed a program to host our video. Vimeo is that host where we can upload our video and then embed the code anywhere for the public to watch and share there opinion on our video. In our case we hosted the video on vimeo and then shared it to facebookto receive our feedback. This was quick and fairly simple to do. However if we did not have this available to us it would have taken us days to get feedback from enough amount of people.

7. Finally unlike last year we had to publish our coursework on to a blogger, as I’ve explained before I was confronted with many challenges when it came to blogging and I didn’t know the slightest thing about blogging or even how to start. But as the months went on I began to feel comfortable and realised I should be rather appreciative as blogging our coursework on www.blogger.com saved me time and if I made a mistake on the text I didn’t have to start all over again, all I had to do was retype that certain sentence. Quick and easyand simple.
