Elida Yadira Estrada Yépiz August 18, 2009 Technology LEI. Carlos Gerardo Garcia Valenzuela What is wireless technology? Introduction Whenviewed as a method of data transport, wirelesstechnologyappearsvery similar towiredtechnology. Youhave a piece of hardware, a method of transmission, and connectionsonbothendsthattransform data fromhuman-intelligibleto transportable and back. Forbothwired and wirelesstechnology, therange of transmissionisanissue. Youcan'tmoveyour laptop 15 feetfromthewalljackwhendependingon a 10-foot cable. Similarly, youcan'tgooutfor a jog and expectyour in-home cordlessphonetokeep a connectionfive miles awayfromits receiver. Butifyougeteither a 20-foot cable or a wirelessconnector of sufficientpower, you can moveyour laptop 15 feetawayfromthewalljack; and ifyouget a cellularphone, you can go jogging five miles awayfromyourhouse and stilltakecalls (as long as yourserviceprovider has a reasonableantenna set up). Themethods of connection and ranges of serviceavailablevary in wirelesstechnologyjust as they do in wiredtechnology. Home telephoneswith a wirelesshandsethave a more limitedrangethancellularphones; infraredtransmissionshave a more limitedrangethan radio-wave (includingmicrowave) transmissions. Differenttypes of wirelesssolutions can communicate ten feet, ten miles, orwith a satellite in orbit. http://www.cites.illinois.edu/101/wireless101.html

DIGITAL AGE ARTICLE I BOTH AGREE AND DISAGREE BECAUSE THE DIGITAL AGE HAS ADVANTAGES AND DISADVANTAGES LIKE HAVING FREE ACCESS TO ANY WEBSITE THAT ARE NOT APPROPRIATE FOR KIDS, YOUNG ADULTS, ETC. THIS CAN ALSO BE A HELFUL TOOL WHEN SEARCHING FOR HOMEWORK OR DOING EXERCISES FOR CLASS WORK. TECHNOLOGY HAS A LOT OF FACILITIES FOR PEOPLE AS FOR STUDENTS, IT IS EASIER FOR US TO SEARCH FOR ANYTHING WE NEED, IN SOME OCCASIONS PEOPLE BUY IN THE INTERNET WHAT THEY COULDN’T FIND IN ANY STORE. EVEN THOUGH IS NOT SAFE USING THE COMPUTER, NOW IS A NEED THAT CAN’T BE TAKEN AWAY. THIS IS ALSO ANOTHER FASTEST WAY TO COMMUNICATE WITH FAMILY AND FRIENDS, WHEN USING MSN, HOTMAIL, OR OTHER WEBSITES AND CHATROOMS.

MULTIPLE INTELLIGENCE TEST EACH OF US MADE A TEST TO SEE WHAT WAS OUR WAY TO LEARN. WE HAD TO ANSWER SOM E QUESTIONS TO FIND OUT HOW WE LEARN BETTER. MY RESULTS WERE: SPATIAL THAT IS SOMEONE WHO LEARNS REMEMBERINGS THINGS VISUALLY, BODY MOVEMENT SOMEONE WHO LIKES TO DANCE, WIGGLE, WALK, ETC. AND MUSICAL WHO LIKES RHYTHM AND LANGUAGE SOUNDS, SINGING ALONG WITH MUSIC.
Elida Yadira Estrada Yépiz September 23, 2009 Technology LEI. Carlos Gerardo García Valenzuela How can you apply technology in the EFL classroom according to YOUR intelligence?¿ My top three intelligences were SPATIAL, BODY MOVEMENT & MUSICAL. As a teacher I can apply these three in a classroom using the different tools that each of this can offer, for example: SPATIAL MATERIAL: ,[object Object]

  • 27. BLACKBOARD-In the blackboard for example we can write a word with a wet finger, visualize the word as it disappears, and see if we can spell it afterwards. BODY MOVEMEN MATERIAL: The outdoors Magnetic letters -In order to remember or retain information better it helps a lot to walk while discussing a story or gathering ideas for a story. MUSICAL MATERIAL: MUSIC -Try to incorporate sounds into your lessons, clap out or walk out the sounds of syllables, use music as background while reviewing and for helping to remember new material.
  • 29. INTRODUCTION THIS ELEMENT WE MADE PRESENTATIONS ABOUT TECHNOLOGY THAT CAN BE USED TO TEACH. FOR EXAMPLE WE MADE A PRESENTATION ABOUT AUDIOBOOK AND EXPLAINED THE FUNCTION TO THE CLASS. SLIDESHARE WAS ANOTHER ONE AND IS A PROGRAM WHERE PEOPLE WITH AN ACCOUNT, SHARES POWERPOINTS WITH OTHER PEOPLE, WE CAN SEE THIS POWERPOINTS EVEN IF WE DON’T HAVE AN ACCOUNT, JUST SHARING THE LINK. WE ALSO SAW THREE DIFFERENT SOFTWARES AND EXPERIENCED EACH AND WRITE THE DIFFERENCES, THE ADVANTAGES AND DISADVANTAGES.

  • 40. REFLECTION IN THIS FASE I LEARN THAT THERE ARE USEFUL SOFTWARES THAT WE CAN USE WHEN TEACHING ENGLISH IN A CLASSROOM.
  • 42. MOVIE MAKER WE USED THIS PROGRAM TO MAKE A MOVIE, WE MADE IT OF WHAT EVER WE WANTED, I CHOSE TO DO IT ABOUT THE MOVIE TITANIC. I TRIED TO DO IT IN A SECUENCE OF THE EPISODES BUT I DID WHAT I COULD BECAUSE I COULDN’T FIND MORE PICTURES, BUT I TRIED MY HARDEST AND I LEARN HOW TO USE THIS PROGRAM.
  • 43. CONCLUSION I ENJOYED THIS SEMESTER IN THIS CLASS BECAUSE I LEARN TO USED SOME SOFTWARES THAT I DID KNOW ABOUT. THIS SOFTWARES WERE REALLY GOOD AND INTERESTING BECAUSE THEY CAN BE USED TO MAKE ANY KIND OF WORK.
