- The last example that is going to be mentioned is Bicing based on Open Data. It is a way to share information, is a methodology with which all citizens can obtain information offered by the Municipality of Barcelona. Bicing service offered to citizens is a location based service based on Open Data and it allow citizens to: find the closes bicing stations consult availability and location check the station visualization in a map have an interactive browsing through all the city have access to preferred station If you want to have this application in your mobile phone, you must send a SMS to 7010 indicating the service you want to obtain: bicing station or code station.
- Let me briefly start from the beginning. This city is actually 2 or maybe three different cities in one. There is a restructured industrial area like the one of the Scientific and Technological Park that live together with the Chemical Industry, or the shipbuilding industry. Beside the Venice everybody knows there is an industrial area you can easily see just in front of the north façade of this hotel. And there is a growing city – Mestre – just that develops just a couple of miles from here, at the other end of the bridge connecting Venice to the mainland or – like we venetian think, connecting Europe to Venice.
