2. The Project –An Overview
This network brings together for the first time, a range of public and private
institutions from across Europe and in Israel, who have experience in the use
and development of online virtual platforms for education across a range of
disciplines (i.e. language education, cultural studies, literature, economics,
religious studies, media studies, intercultural communication, digital design,
computer science and software engineering, science including physics) and
contexts (lower and higher education, educational and business). The network
aims to learn from the experiences of partners within the group of
organisations involved, pool together knowledge and resources from previous
projects and create guidance to other practitioners on good practice
implementation of courses within virtual worlds (in the form of a good practice
framework). It also aims to evaluate the impact of established good practice
through evaluation within partner organisations and other interested parties
from outside the consortium. This evaluation will take place across multiple
learner stages of the learning continuum (lower and higher education) and
contexts.
