2. Our school mission
School No.9 “Nicolae Orghidan” Brasov is
a discrimination free community, where pupils
feel protected, respected, educated and motivated
to study.
They are stimulated to learn respect,
tolerance, honesty and dignity, values which will
make them worthy citizens of Europe.

3. Nicolae Orghidan s-a născut în
oraşul de la poalele Tâmpei, la 6 decembrie
1881, chiar de ziua Sf. Nicolae. După absolvirea
cursurilor Liceului „Andrei Şaguna”, şcoală de
elită a Braşovului, în 1901 trecea Carpaţii şi,
asemeni multor tineri români ardeleni cu tragere
de inimă pentru învăţătură, se îndrepta spre
Universitatea din Bucureşti. La 3 noiembrie
1901, în prezenţa lui Titu Maiorescu, rostea
disertaţia inaugurală Obiectul geografiei,
moment ce consemnează, în România, începutul
instituţionalizat al învăţământului geografic
universitar.
În fiecare an , pe data de 6
decembrie elevii și profesorii școlii noastre,
alături de comunitate, sărbătoresc ziua școlii ,în
cinstea marelui geograf brașovean.
