2. Hello, My name is Élizabeth Roënn and I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself. I am an artist. I create murals and suspended space dividers out of recycled newspaper and integrate in the artwork aluminum or copper sheet, metal wire and/or glass. You will find in the next slides, pictures of some artwork I have done. Each piece is unique and comes with an authenticity certificate and guaranty of non-reproduction. You will know that nobody else in the world has the same artwork as you, since I will never repeat it. You will have it in writing, signed by me. Some of my artwork is ready made but I also do custom work created specifically to your needs. During my meeting with you, I define the colors, shape, size and theme of the artwork. I will create an artwork that will represent you and only you. I hope you will enjoy this presentation Sincerely yours, Élizabeth Roënn P.S.: It is customary in my business to give 10% commission on every referral you send me resulting in a sale whether it be a ready made or customized artwork.
3. Biography I started as an artist in 1999 at the age of 35 years old. As I launched my business career following my MBA, I realized that my life couldn’t go on without art and creativity being an important part of it. I decided then to begin a creative art certificate at UQAM (Université du Québec à Montréal) and completed it in 2001. Starting with the creation of papier mâché masks I pursued with the production of murals and space dividers. From private exhibits to art shows, galleries and hotels in and around Montreal and Toronto I have come to live from this art so important to me. Abstract art holds the particularity that allows the spectator to identify and understand the work he or she is looking at with their own perceptions of things and of life. Color raises that degree of perception by generating all kinds of emotions. It expresses vitality, depth and intensity. As for texture, it anchors the work into a concrete space and clarifies what the spectator comprehends. It is all these elements I explore each time I create a papier mâché mural or a room divider. My explorations have brought me to develop multiple finishing techniques allowing among other things textures of wood, leather or metal. Yet what I like the most about papier mâché is its ease to add other mediums to it such as metal sheet, “knitted” metal wire or stain glass, creating original and unique artwork.
