2. Igneous Rocks I found igneous rocks in three rivers. As I was collecting rocks I mainly found igneous rocks. It was very simple to identify igneous rock due to the granite texture they have. The granite rocks feel rough and sandy.
4. Sedimentary Rocks It is known that sedimentary rocks “change form”. I located the sedimentary rocks in three rivers. I found the sedimentary rocks near the water. When I found the rocks the first thing I noticed was the change the rocks were making. One rocks impressed me the most as I observed it was splitting in lines. Sedimentary rocks feel like many layers.
5. Metamorphic Rocks The Metamorphic rocks I found are really dark, similar to the granite texture of igneous rocks. Although the metamorphic rocks feels smother. I located the metamorphic rocks in three rivers. Metamorphic rocks can be tricky since the texture is composed of granite.
6. Mineral Spring’s Fault The fault that I located is in Mineral Spring’s it is close to Coalinga California. As I researched to find a fault I came across the one in Mineral Springs. The fault that I found is known to be part of the San Andres Fault. I was able to observe there is a huge whole.
8. Weathering Process Chemical weathering involves the transformation of rock into one or more new compounds. I was able to locate chemical weathering in Mineral Springs and in Cayucos Beach California
9. Weathering Process Mechanical Weathering is accomplished by physical forces that break rocks mineral composition. I was able to find mechanical weathering in Cayucos Beach California.
10. Mass Wasting Mass wasting is the transfer of rock and soil downslope Under the influence of gravity. I found mass wasting in Mineral Springs. When I observed mass wasting I can hear all the rocks falling. I was scared that the mountain was going to fall on me.
11. Erosion Events Erosion Events is the physical removal of material by mobile agents such as water, wind, or ice. I found erosion event taken by wind in Cayucos Beach California. It was really interesting to see erosion events taken away by water in Pismo Beach California. Erosion that is taken away by water looks green, brown and muddy.
12. Sedimentary Environment Sedimentary environment are commonly placed into one of three categories: continental, marine, or transitional. I located marine environment in Pismo Beach California. For transitional environment I went to a lake going by three rivers. It was such an amazing and peaceful place.
13. When I visited three rivers I seen a rock that looked amazing but rare. The rock was cut into three pieces.
