3. THINKING CAPS, NOT FLAT CAPS.
We’re based in Huddersfield, home to just about
every stereotyped ‘northerner’ that stumbles into
Albert Square.
It’s also a town with a reputation for creativity,
which inspires our thinking a lot. At The Engine
Room we’re all designers, so ideas, creativity and
how they influence the minds of your customers
are pretty key to everything we do.
It might smell like the Queen Vic here sometimes,
but it’s certainly much more interesting.
4. RESULTS COUNT.
Ok so it’s true that our mums and dads still think
we draw pretty pictures for a living. In a way,
they’re right (don’t tell them this). All people are
drawn to images in some way, that’s what good
design does... it persuades.
Couple those design skills with strategic thinking
and you have a plan. A plan that’s geared towards
delivering results, whether that’s in hard bottom
line cash or increased sales leads and enquiries.
5. CUSTOMER LOVE.
Not in a yacky ‘tongues’ sort of way,
but more a case of respect,
appreciation and collaboration.
We’re nearly 10 years old and still
working with many clients that were
there on day one, so we must be
doing something right.
6. UK MEDICAL
We’ve helped UK Medical to develop a clear brand
proposition in a fiercely competitive market.
Initially working on a root and branch review of
their communications. We’ve worked on
everything from exhibition stands to how they
communicate internally with staff.
UK Medical continues to meet ambitious yearly
growth targets and is becoming a leading light
in the supply of hi-end medical devices.

7. LEEDS BUILDING SOCIETY
Kid’s love dinosaurs! That’s why we chose them as the basis for
the rebrand of Leeds Building Society’s young savers account.
Our work included new name and identity plus branch POS and
marketing materials - all fitting nicely into the existing
corporate brand style.
The pull of those endearing eyes obviously worked with an
increase of 12% in new subscriptions within the first two
months of launch...

Mixing form and function, Spotty Otter is a truly different
children’s outdoor clothing brand and deserved a look
befitting its ethos. We managed the entire brand process
including identity, online and offline marketing and store POS.
It didn’t take long for the brand to make it’s mark. The first
