1. One day, the Green Team
collected all the garbage from
each classroom after lunch.
We collected 16.5 pounds of food waste, some of
which could have been composted.
1 large bin full of wrappers from cheese strings, fruit
snacks, granola bars, cheese and cracker snacks,
and Ziplok snack bags
food items that were not finished . . .or not
even opened!
We also found a lot of things that could have
been recycled.
2. We found 53 containers that could
have been recycled if they were clean.
3. Did you know . . .
that if you wash your plastic .
Did you know . .
containers they can be put in the big
blue recycling bin in your classroom?
19. At that rate, there would be over
10 000
containers thrown in the garbage just
from our school!
20. Can you help?
Can you ask your parents to send
your food in reusable containers?
If not, can you wash them out at
school and put them in the big blue
recycling bin?
21. Will you help work
towards our goal of
bringing garbage-free
lunches?
