Planning the production
By creating the action plan and the equipment list it ensured we were fully prepared and organized, so the construction day ran smoothly. They also enabled us to keep to personal deadlines and made sure we used our time wisely  and we had everything we needed to produce a piece of work to our full potential.
The audience look out for specific conventions that appeal to them in a media product.  Firstly to obtain these conventions I conducted a questionnaire which gave me an idea of what my target audience liked, in terms of colours and type of music.  I also took into account that my age is in the middle of my target audience, so therefore I can relate to them, and so I took into account what would appeal to me.
Our chosen artist is called Elena Tonra, and the song, album is entitled, ‘Took Your Breathe Away’.  From this the audience will automatically  reference connotations to these titles. For example the artist is using her real name, implying to the audience she a real person and therefore the audience can relate to her, also through this we decided to use a video which used to real people and a real setting. The song and album title, uses connotations of love and the feeling of being love. Yet we realised loosing your breathe could be due to lots of different emotions and therefore we decided to use the narrative in the video of many different kinds of love and the emotions related to these. Such as ‘young love’, lost love’ etc . . .
My brief was to create my own music video with an CD album and magazine advertisement.  Therefore I must use my own images  to show it all my own work and no copyright issues are attached. We chose locations for our music video which would complement our theme and narrative. Therefore for choosing a location such as a normal house and local park, the audience can yet again relate to this. When deciding on locations we had to consider continuity, for example we had to ensure the lighting would be the same through out the different shots and the scenery was the same. Which also made it crucial to get that specific shot in one day. Plus filming certain sections outside was made difficult if it rained or was really windy.
I believe our video will appeal our audience as the viewer is able to attach feeling an emotions to the characters the film, not only because the actors look like real people but they are experiencing an emotion that most viewers have and can relate to.  Because our music video is a narrative it entices out audience to want to fins out what happens at the end, to the characters reconcile?
Through out my planning stage I conducted: flat plans  which helped me put the conventions I had researched into my own work and when it came to finally producing the product I had an idea of where to start. I also  created storyboards to that I new exactly what I was doing and when for each scene. along with an action plan it ensure I was fully organised and created a piece of work which complied fully with the conventions and appealed to my target audience.
