2. INFLUENCES
Our group Hybrid Beauty consists of Iris, Nina and Hazel. A Three
piece girl group who grew up in London, met in high school and
formed early 2013. Iris can play lead guitar, Nina can play
Rhythm guitar and Hazel can play bass guitar. Hazel performs
the vocals, and Nina and Iris work on the mixing of the song.
Musical and visual influences of the group consists of Haim,
Lana Del Rey, Stonefield and The Starves

As a group we would like to appeal to young girls, mainly teens, as
we feel that our image and music fits this category, but we hope to
appeal to a range of people. Fans of Lana Del Rey and Haim would
also enjoy our music.

Floral print, mixed of loose fitted clothes and
fitted, bright/red lipsticks, knitwear, check
shirts…

At the early stages of the band forming, the girls did a
shoot with photographer Terry Richardson as material
to go in the Digipak, for the website and for posters
and advertising.

Each of us had an interview with a popular magazine,
radio station or TV show discussing the up and coming
news for our band. We talked about an new music
video, how we were discovered, and an in sight as to
what we are like as a band. Emma had an interview with
MTV, Drea had an interview with NME and Beth had an
interview with the BBC live lounge.

8. IN THE STUDIO

Nina and Hazel went in Abbey Road
recording studio to record the audio for the
music video. Hazel performs the main
vocals and Nina did some backing vocals to
add if needed. This clip shows some behind
the scenes footage of what went down
when they arrived.

9. MUSIC VIDEO
Our new single ‘Black Beauty’
is currently in the making of
its music video. The concept
involves the band enjoying a
day out whilst having dramatic,
quick shot flash backs of each
member floating in water.
Although the concept seems
simple, we aim to make it
dramatic and exciting through
the editing process. We want
the video to change from an
old, film reel, grainy styled
shots, to clear, slow motion
shots of underwater scenes.
