3. Graphology
Graphology is the studying of peoples
handwriting. It studies the reasons behind why
people write the way that they do. It looks at
the techniques used, being their slants,
angels, spacing between each word.
It analysis how peoples personalities, likes
and dislikes gets intwined into our
handwriting.
Our handwriting unintentionally helps readers
to unpick people, it reveals how people think,
their behavioural patterns in a quick period of
time.
5. Uses and Gratification Model
Theory
For an audience to use Gratification Theory successfully they need to fulfil at least one
of these acquirements.
Identity - Having something their that you recognise and appeals to the reader, like a
role model that has made an influence to you in some way, they have similar qualities
that you find interesting.
Educate - They have to be able to acquire some form of new knowledge or information
from the media text that they haven’t seen or heard of before.
Entertainment - The form of media must take the reader out of their reality, they
must find some kind of relief and evoke escapism for them. They have to find it
interesting.
Social Interaction - The piece should enable the reader to discuss their views or
opinions with others and getting them involved and interested, which will help in
spreading your media to a wide range of peoples.
7. Influence my Magazine
For my music magazine I would hope that the reader would feel some
form of escapism, how they would be able to read my magazine
knowing that their problems would be forgotten about. Gratification is
good to be showcased in music as it helps depict peoples personal
interest and music selection. I would enjoy it if the reader is able to
figure out their musical identity through my magazine, and further be
able to acquirer who they are, figuring out their interests and dislikes.
This means that my music magazine should educate them on my
desired genre and the different ways it should have an influencing effect
on them.
