This document provides a 6-step guide for picking a college:
1) Visit campuses over the summer to gather information
2) Narrow down school choices in the fall based on acceptance chances and costs
3) Apply in the fall, choosing early decision or regular admission
4) Wait through the winter for admission decisions
5) Learn what schools you're accepted to between January and April
6) Choose a school by May 1st and graduate from high school.

Though applying to these schools is time consuming, picking one from the ones you’ve been accepted to is even more stressful. Page 2
3. Step 1: Summer Page 3 Before senior year: Visit all the college campuses that you may be interested in Take tours, stay with friends from that school, etc Get all the information you need from that school
4. Step 2: Fall -Narrow down all the schools to the amount you’re willing to apply to (be reasonable with how many schools you pick) -When picking you’re schools keep in mind your chances of getting accepted and tuition costs Page 4

Step 3: Fall continued Page 5 Once you’ve picked your schools, start applying Consider if you want to apply for early decision or regular admission and check the due dates for these Online applications are the easiest to fill out These can usually be found under the “Admissions” tabs of University and College websites
6. Step 4: Winter Page 6 After all of your applications are turned in… YOU WAIT
7. Step 5: Spring Page 7 - You’ll find out what schools you get into between the months of January and April. Once you know what these schools are you have to choose one before May 1st.
8. Step 6: May 1st- June 19th Page 8 Pick a school & graduate!
