8. The past continious
tense
Describes actions in progress in the past
Event in the recent past
Example : I was just looking for a new pen
Event at a specific time in the past
Example : At that time, I was still working in a cafe.
Description of a scene
Example : It was a beautiful night when I was playing
my old guitar.
Activities during a period of time in the past
Example : I was doing homework during the morning.

11. The future continious tense
Refers to actions that will be in progress in the
future.
A point in time in the future
Example : Kim will be playing tennis at 9
tomorrow morning
A period of time in the future
Example : Tina will be cooking some cakes
between 08.00 and 10.00.

next week (month), and so on.
