Possibly. But there’s a
quick and easy solution:
You use your
smartphone!

advantages
• you always have it with you
• you can instantly edit photos
• and share them
• there’s a wide array of very useful apps at
your fingertips
21. ...but it also has disadvantages
• it doesn’t work so well with low lighting
• it doesn’t have a great lens and sensor
(although quality is improving very fast and
add-on lenses are available)
• it gives you little or no power over settings
like shutter speed and aperture

• don’t let your gear limit your creativity
• make the most of what you’ve got

made from? what colour(s) is it?
• try to photograph it in at least 10 different
ways

• How do you take great portraits and selfies
with your smartphone?

go easy on yourself
• if it takes you hours to get a suitable
photograph for a presentation or post then
you’re making it too hard
• look for material that stares you right in
the face - don’t overthink things
