Peer to peer-Between 5-6 peer educators at any given time-All between the ages of 17-20New media-Doesn’t really work in New orleans…Community partnerships-credibility
Locations – partnerships, schools, universities (I’m going to come back to why it’s important for us to go into universities – Chris’s network)Process – peers do it from start to finish
Neighborhoods include st. roch, hollygrove, gentily, basketball courts, stoopsMaterials include – condom packs, brochures, flyersImportance – it’s the only way to really get condoms to youth and get them into the office (talk about why they love the office)
Interviews were done in third personChris’s visual and narrativeThe narrative described the peer’s physical characteristics, his lifestyle, and also addressed his hopes, values, worries, beliefs and fears. We shifted our focus to Chris’ people (his social and sexual network). We discussed members of the network based on the archetype. These included:Close FriendLil’ HomieHoodratPretty Girl @ the clubTo develop program recommendations, we asked the peer researchers to Bring Chris through the CHAT program from beginning to end. What is the first time we see Chris? When do we see him again? What kind of CHAT activity would he go to and why? How do we talk to Chris?
Talk about credibility again and how it’s especially important since we don’t have a grounding in the community
