2. Our target audience- Teenagers, young adults.
From our audience feedback I have learnt that
we used appropriate shot types and framing
for our chosen song and genre.
0:17- Close ups of Sam
in bed in the first shots,
effective in trying to get
inside his thoughts and
the lip syncing shows
what he is dreaming
about.
Another example is that of the guitar close ups which
we use for the instrumental. Close ups of instruments
are usually associated with Rock videos and we aimed
01:14- Close up performance to also challenge this by using it in our pop video. We
shots represent the pop genre used a variety of different shot types and styles (close
but we challenge it by using ups, performance, low angle) which proved effective
our main character also as our with our audience.
singer.
3. For example the zooming shot of Sam at the start of the
video with him on the bed was said to work well with the
genre, especially with the link between the music and the
visuals when the shot zooms in in time with the beat. We
were said to have executed out shots well by using the
tripod effectively and steadily.
For example our last few shots were examples of when
we used the tripod.
03:08- This shot was a panning shot used with the tripod
and is an example of how we effectively used the
equipment.
We had a variety of different settings and locations that
were effective and worked well when creating a story. For
example the link between lyrics and visuals helped create
this.
01:36- The shot on the courtyard represents a lawn and
creates a link between lyrics and visuals.
4. The use of different settings coincided with a good use of lighting and colour to further
represent that of a pop video. We had good feedback about the series of singular shots
during the instrumental. The fact that some had already been used and some were out
takes and the fact that she flashed quickly up onto the screen in time with the beat created
a dramatic effect creating a link between the music and the visuals.
The storyline was said to fit the lyrics and that the performance shots created a nice
contrast. There was mentions of the gap in the back drop during the performance shots
which we were aware of and found it problematic to fix without interfering with the
original clip.
5. The overall lip syncing was said to be good throughout with a few minor off sections but
in general worked well with the quick transitions between each clip and especially among
the performance shots.
The cuts between each shot were also said to be very clean with good lip synching into
each and combined with a good use of shot transitions in each one. This was said to
create a good visual effect which would engage our target audience.
The overall comments about our product were said to be pretty good and comedic, which
is pleasing to hear as we aimed to create a funny outgoing pop video.
