3. Please be sure to use context clues for the sentences.
When you are done, please put your quiz on the
computer chart, and quietly work on something else.
4. With a partner, you will be assigned a question. You will
both agree on the answer, and then write the sentence
on the board.
Make sure the sentence has no errors—misspellings,
grammatical errors, run-on sentences or fragments.
5. Write a journal entry for the book.
You are free to use any style that you wish as long as your writing is clear and error- free.
Be conscious of proofreading errors.
Use your own words to express your opinion and thoughts (both
negative and positive or both) and/or your ideas about the reading.
You are welcome to include a favorite quote from the reading -
something that grabbed your attention. Just remember that when
you are writing down someone else's words, you must put
quotation marks ("...") around them.
Respond to what you read. Use the journal prompts below to start
your comments and questions. Select one of these to begin the
second half of your journal. Be sure not to summarize in this
paragraph, but speak from your own reaction(s) to the book.
Pick one of the journal prompts to begin your second paragraph of the journal:
I wonder … I began to think of … I suppose … I predict … I
don't see
I know the feeling … I love (hate) the way … I was surprised when … I felt …
6. In groups you will discuss your answers.
Each group will be assigned a question to discuss with
the class.
