2017-2019
1ο Δημοτικό Σχολείο Περάματος
A project in which the main idea is
the one that is different,
outstanding, isolated...
Activities
● We either get a piece
done separately from
other partners and
present a joined result
● Or work together to
produce an output
Α1- Communication
● Foreign languages are the
basic contributor to all the
realization of the project.
Telecommunication, chat,
emails and letters in English
are being used throughout
the project in order to join
pupils from different
countries and ages.
Teleconference
● How? Platform
Twinspace. But… not
always easy to be
used by all partners.
Hangout meetings
often were the safer
choice.
● Topics? Wishes for
Christmas, Easter,
summer holidays and
also odd sports
characters, Easter
aftermath
Twinspace
● Accounts for some
6th graders
● Ice breaking activity:
use the first letter of
your name to create
a sentence for
yourself, e.g I am
Eleni and I am
excellent!
Cards and letters exchange
● Christmas and
Easter pupils make
and send cards and
letters (actually we
send them)
● Pupils will make a
presentation of
themselves and the
school they attend in
English.
● Cards with images
and words
Α2 - Presentation
Α3 - logo
● Tangram may be the
canvas for each
school to draw a
piece
A4 - Comic
● This is where an activity involving a non-fitting newcomer starts taking place.
They are asked to create a comic picturing a normal day in school, expecting to
meet a newcomer.
● Pupils describe reactions expected.
● In the end, we all discuss if everything is ok and what should be different.
Results are published and the community comments.
A5 - Tales
● There are stories taken from tradition,
as well as international literature about
a not fitting person that are appealing
to the children.
● Pupils will read a story, fairy tale or
novel about a lonely person and then
discuss together how things could have
gone differently.
● A wiki about "odd" characters, stating
what was odd and how they changed
the plot, is created and filled
throughout the project.
● Then they can re-tell or re-write the
story, do crafts work like collage,
posters, badges, bookmarks etc
depending on the age of the pupils. In
the end, each group provides a story of
their own about social exclusion.
A6 - Drama
● A segmented play with
common reference the
"odd" will be produced
using the above stories. It
is performed using all the
capabilities of the
children, to involve even
the younger and "weaker"
ones to have the best
participation percentage.
● INCLUDE
A7 - Science
● Studying diversity from a different perspective, various subjects face oddity.
For example, division by zero in Mathematics or evolution oddities in
Biology. They will be used as a "springboard" to speak about diversity.
A8 - Project
● Pupils will be divided into groups in the same classroom to
create graphics, construct a program and even make a small
robot. The outcome will be shared and criticized by the whole
community.
Α9 - Sports
● Another field where the
"weakest" are usually excluded
is sports. Sports and games
that are applicable to disabled
people will be presented to the
children with emphasis on being
in their shoes. They will
simulate various disabilities.
Significant athletes with
disabilities will be hosted in our
schools, to speak and inspire
children. Older pupils from
partner countries will become
teachers of younger ones and
present them the traditional
games that they used to play
when they were at their age.
A10 - Assessment
● Assessment activities.
Pupils will be asked to
answer
questionnaires and
write essays at the
beginning and the
end of the project.
