3. Healthy Living Week Thank you to everyone who joined in the fun of Healthy Living Week last week. Lots of fun was had guessing the fat and sugar content of our most commonly consumed foods. We were kept informed about how to improve our overall health via the interactive NHS tools on the café machines, the information pamphlets picked up by students and the informative content on the café screen. Students participated in the health screenings on Tuesday and on Wednesday we learnt how to keep ourselves safe and defend ourselves if we do find ourselves in an unsafe situation in the self defence class. We learnt about the dangers of alcohol and drug abuse and the importance of quitting smoking. The Virgin team encouraged us to stay active and the Hair and Beauty girls kept us calm with their relaxing massages. The highlight of the week culminated in the Wii tournament on Friday where we all got involved to keep fit and active. Remember what you learned this week and be sure to make some positive changes in your daily lives.
4. Group Discussion We’d love to hear how the activities and information provided throughout the week is benefiting you. What activities did you participate in during Healthy Living week? What did you learn during Healthy Living week? How will this learning impact on you?
