Name of Student: ___________________
Class: ____________
Name of Teacher: Mr. Gooden
Instructions: This test focuses only on Lines of Latitude and Longitude. It is made up of two parts. Part A
focuses only on diagrams, while Part B has only short answer questions. You are required to answer all
questions.
Part A
1. Complete the diagram below labeling
correctly the major lines of latitude. On the
lines beside each arrow.
2. Using your pencil, draw a circle
representing the globe (earth). On that
diagram, put in the following:
(i) the equator;
(ii) write the words “northern hemisphere”
in the correct area;
(iii) write in the words “southern
hemisphere” in the correct area;
(iv) use different “light or pale” colours to
shade in the northern and southern
hemispheres.
3. In the space provided, draw a circle
representing the globe (earth). On the circle
drawn, label all the climatic zones. Then
using appropriate colours, shade each of
these zones.
4.
The diagram above represents the globe (earth).
Correctly label the diagram. [Hint: think lines of
longitude].
PART B
Answer the following questions on the lines
provided.
5(a). By what other names are lines of latitude
called? _______________________
5(b). Base on your answer to question 5a, why
are lines of latitude called by that
name?______________________________

(x) Another name for all lines of
longitude is meridians.
____________
(xi) Lines of latitude never meet.
____________
(xii) The earth is divided into a total of
four hemispheres. ____________
