For some product owners and stakeholders, adopting agile practices can be challenging because it requires being more visible, transparent, and collaborative compared to traditional methods. Specifically, admitting mistakes and flaws openly can invite criticism in some organizational cultures. Additionally, continually adapting processes and sharing information without competing for power goes against instincts that have developed in more siloed and routine-focused work environments. Some anti-patterns that can arise include having too many product owners per team, micromanaging the team, treating daily standups as status reports rather than collaborative meetings, focusing on deadlines over quality, and being too busy to support the team.
