  • 6. E-tailing in India is driven by discounts, mid term focus is infrastructure E-tailing in India is at nascent stage, attracting customers by deep discounting strategy. The focus currently is to habituate customers to the new retail platform. Bigger players also investing in back-end infrastructure; building large warehouses, distribution network, investing in last mile logistic network, private labels etc. Mid-term focus would be to continue discounting, aided by deep consumer insight using big data analytics and playing on “Convenience Quotient”.
