2. "Cid of Almeida Franco" Ecological Park occupies an area of 120 m². It is one of the zoos that has better structure and has been using as model for others because it is totally inside the of Ibama demand.
3. Now the Ecological Park counts with 107 different species, 23 of them threatened of extinction, and about 85% belonging to the Brazilian fauna. In all there are approximately 400 animals, but in the last trimester of each year the number always increases.

It was inaugurated recently in its facilities the Nucleus of Environmental Education (NEA), that has specialized library and chatters room, with capacity for 40 people, where biology, veterinary, zootechnics and agronomy students, students accompanied by teachers and any interested person can update their knowledge.
5. In the patio there are two snack bars and tables for picnic. The entrance is free. For the people that make walk, the Park opens at 6:00 a.m. Inside the Ecological Park there is the Municipal Astronomy Observatory (OMA), that assists students during the week, always with set time. The public visitation happens on Sundays from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. The Forest Garden is installed behind OMA. In it species for urban arborization, replacement or plantation of bushes and formation of squares are produced.
