14. My students are from a rural, southern area of
Georgia. We are a Federal Title 1 school - meaning
that more than 50% of the students that we serve
are classified in poverty, and over 1/3 of our
students are minority. It is not unusual for a
student to let me know that he or she has never
been outside of the county. Many times, the only
window my students have to the outside world is in
my classroom. We are academically diverse with
students of all levels working together and helping
each other.
