Shrek
Shrek is an ogre living happily alone
in his swamp. His life is suddenly
turned upside down when Lord
Farquaad
dumps all
of the Fairy
tale creatures
in his swamp.
B. Rising Action
  1. the development of the
     conflict
  2. The obstacles the
     protagonist faces
  3. longest portion of the
     story
Shrek
                     Shrek and donkey go
                      to Dulac to speak
                      to Lord Farquaad.

   After fighting his Knights,
   Lord Farquaad tells Shrek
  that if he rescues Princess
   Fiona, he will remove the
fairy tale creatures from his
                      swamp.
Shrek – Rising Action
Shrek and Donkey travel to the castle
 where Fiona is being held. Along the
 way, they become friends.

After arriving at
the castle, they
find Princess Fiona
and escape from
the dragon.
Shrek – Rising Action
Fiona discovers that Shrek
is an ogre. She is dismayed.

As they return to Duloc,
Shrek and Fiona begin to
fall in love.

Donkey discovers that
Fiona turns into an ogre at
sunset.
C. Climax
  1. Turning point of a story
  2. Moment of greatest tension
  3. Characters may have begun to
     solve the conflict
Shrek
Shrek and Fiona have a terrible fight because of a
misunderstanding.

Shrek delivers Fiona to Lord Farquaad, and they
return to Duloc to be married that evening.
D. Falling Action –
describes how the
problem is solved
Donkey sets Shrek straight about
  Shrek            Fiona and they race to stop the
                   wedding.

                   Shrek arrives and Fiona turns into
                   an ogre at the wedding. Lord
                   Farquaad vows to imprison her.


Shrek kisses Fiona and she turns into
an ogre forever.

Lord Farquaad is eaten by the dragon.
E. Resolution - The
ending, tells you how
  things turn out
Shrek

Shrek and Fiona
are married.

They have a reception in the swamp, where
all of the fairy tale creatures have gathered
to celebrate.
