One Shot
Genre:
Action Film
Synopsis / Treatment:
A short action film about one man who has to overcome many challenges to retrieve a flash drive
that holds some precious information. There are a team of “Bad Guys” who are in possession of
the flash drive and are going use it for the wrong purposes so the “Hero” is sent to retrieve it. The
traditional spy story applies to this short film where one man is the hero and save the day by
stopping the “Bad Guys” from going a head with there evil plan. This short film has lots of drama,
involving fights scenes and chases.

A thrilling and dramatic action packed short film.
Style (similar products and visual style):
The short film created by Triune Films called “Losses” was created using the same visual style and
techniques I would like to use in my short film. Although he did have a very expensive camera to
help create this effect where as I will be using a standard DSLR camera. The production of this
short film and the way they filmed the action and fight scenes using certain techniques has given
me a good understanding of how to create the style of film I want. My short film will be fast paced
but use some slower shots to slow the pace down for effect when necessary.
Audience:
My target audience is the younger generation of the public. The age range will be around
teenagers to young adult, so about 15 to 25 year olds. The film is mainly target towards the male
gender as the film involves lots of violence and action.
Legal & Ethical Considerations:
There are very few legal and ethical issues I need to look out for. The few ethical issues I would
need to look out for are to make sure there is no racism or sexism in the short film. I would also
need to make sure I don’t offend any religions ether, as it is easy to shoot a scene that could have
something in the background that could offend people from a certain religion.
The legal issues would be simple to avoid, as they are small things like filming on land you don’t
have permission to, etc.

Production Methods & Requirements [outline required techniques, resources and methods
of production]:
The short film will be filmed using simple technology so there will be no incredibly fancy shots. This
means many of the shots will be simple and hopefully elegant. There are many techniques that I
could use like the shaky cam technique, as this is really good for creating realistic fight scenes.
Techniques like these don’t cost anything to do and can be done with simply just a camera but
when edited well can produce a professional looking scene. I will be using some resources such
has a steadicam to create some smooth moving shots when necessary and lighting equipment to
create artificial light in the right places. Being able to control the light when shooting a fight scene
is extremely helpful as it makes it easier to make it look realistic.
