RDP and SSH from the Azure portal: Initiate RDP and SSH sessions directly in the Azure portal with a single-click seamless experience.
Remote session over SSL and firewall traversal for RDP/SSH: HTML5 based web clients are automatically streamed to your local device providing the RDP/SSH session over SSL on port 443. This allows easy and securely traversal of corporate firewalls.
No public IP required on Azure Virtual Machines: Azure Bastion opens the RDP/SSH connection to your Azure virtual machine using a private IP, limiting exposure of your infrastructure to the public Internet.
Simplified secure rules management: Simple one-time configuration of Network Security Groups (NSGs) to allow RDP/SSH from only Azure Bastion.
Increased protection against port scanning: The limited exposure of virtual machines to the public Internet will help protect against threats, such as external port scanning.
Hardening in one place to protect against zero-day exploits: Azure Bastion is a managed service maintained by Microsoft. It’s continuously hardened by automatically patching and keeping up to date against known vulnerabilities.
Immersive Reader is a new Azure Cognitive Service in the Language category.
Developers can now use this service to embed inclusive capabilities into their apps for enhancing text reading and comprehension for users regardless of age or ability.
No machine learning expertise is required.
Read the text aloud, translate, focus user attention, and much more.
Immersive Reader helps users unlock knowledge from text and achieve gains in the classroom and office.
Seamless integration to automate workflows enables customers to build an event-driven pipeline in minutes.
Enable alerting with rapid reaction to creation, deletion, and renaming of files and directories. A myriad of scenarios would benefit from this – especially those associated with data governance and auditing. For example, alert and notify of all changes to high business impact data, set up email notifications for unexpected file deletions, as well as detect and act upon suspicious activity from an account.
Eliminate the complexity and expense of polling services and integrate events coming from your data lake with third-party applications using webhooks such as billing and ticketing systems.
Form Recognizer’s new pre-built receipt API identifies and extracts key information on sales receipts, such as the time and date of the transaction, merchant information, the amounts of taxes, totals, and more, with no training required.
The pre-built receipt functionality of Form Recognizer has already been deployed by Microsoft’s internal expense reporting tool, MSExpense, to help auditors identify potential anomalies.
Uses a REST API.
Performance limits for a single file remain the same at 1 TiB, 1000 IOPS, and 60 MiB/s.
Standard file shares are backed by hard disk drives.
If your workload is latency sensitive, you should consider Azure Files premium tier, that is backed by solid-state drives.
Available in Southeast Asia, West Europe, and West US 2
Credits accumulate in a burst bucket whenever traffic for your file share is below baseline IOPS.
Access files from a single mount point, whether they are stored in on-premises NAS or in Azure Blob storage.
Delivers high throughput and low latency for hybrid storage infrastructure supporting read-heavy HPC workloads
Supports NFS and server message block (SMB) protocol for NetApp and Dell EMC Isilon NAS systems, as well as cloud APIs for Azure Blob storage and Amazon S3
Order directly from the Azure portal
Copy data to Data Box Heavy using standard files or object protocols
Data is automatically secured on the appliance using AES 256-bit encryption.
After data is transferred to Azure, the appliance is wiped clean according to National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) standards.
