What command to use?
 Plot a scatter plot between MOTHERS’
BODY MASS INDEX (in kg) and BIRTH
WEIGHT (in kg)
 MOTHERS’ BODY MASS INDEX (in kg) is
considered as the risk factor so should be
on x-axis.
 BIRTH WEIGHT (in kg) is considered as the
outcome, so should be on y-axis.
 X comes before Y, as Risk Factor comes
before Outcome.

Conclusion
 There is a positive association between
mothers’ BMI and birth weight.
 As the mothers’ BMI increases, the birth
weight of the babies also increases.
 r2 = 0.186, therefore 18.6% of the birth
weight variability is contributed by mBMI.
 “Big Mothers Get Big Babies!”
