Introduction
• Sometimes, despite driving or riding
carefully, we end up being hit by reckless
drivers and sometimes left for dead by
the road side. We were just another poor
hit and run victims.
• But if we survived & managed to get the
plate number of the vehicles, then we
can trace the owner of the vehicle.

How to trace the owner of a vehicle?
• Using SMS, type "POLIS SAMAN <Plate
Number> and send to 15888 (20 sen) or
32728 (50 sen).
The reply will give you his/her IC number plus
his/her traffic summons.
• e.g. Type SMS “POLIS SAMAN TBS277X” and
send to 15888.

Response of SMS
• “RM0.20 POLIS: TBS277X Terdpt 39 saman
berjumlah RM7500 sehingga 09/03/18.Saman
terperinci taip POLIS SAMAN [no ic/no kend]
[emel] & SMS ke 15888.”
• "RM0.20 POLICE: TBS277X There are 39
summonses amounting to RM7500 until
09/03/18. Full details of POLIS SAMAN [no ic /
no kend] [email] & SMS to 15888."

Full Details of Offences
• Type SMS “POLIS SAMAN TBS277X

• Then check your email account;

on https://pengundi.spr.gov.my/ to trace
his/her name and locality.

Conclusion
• It is possible to trace a vehicle from it’s plate
number by using SMS, if the person has a
pending road traffic summons.
• Not happy about people looking you up based
on your vehicle plate number? Pay up all your
pending road traffic summons!
