You can decide the threshold amount (Rs. 5,000/- or more), which will be maintained

   in your account.

After maintaining the threshold amount, the fixed deposits would be created for a

minimum amount of Rs. 5000/- and thereafter in multiples of Rs. 1000/- for SB

account. This auto-sweep facility would be operative on daily basis on the balance

available in the account at the commencement of business.

                                                                                         13
MARKETING STRATEGY OF STATE BANK OF BIKANER AND JAIPUR

You can opt for any-one maturity for the TDRs/STDRs (6 to 60 months in round

month) or else the deposits will be opened for 6 months.

You can draw on the deposits by merely issuing a cheque on the Savings account or

       through ATM.

Premature withdrawals (sweep out) of fixed deposits for payment of cheques / drawal

from ATMs would be subject to the Bank's rules for premature withdrawals of term

       deposits.

In the absence of any such specific instructions, the system would break the latest

fixed deposit (in multiples of Rs. 1,000/ 5,000) by an amount adequate for payment of

       the cheque.

without actually handling physical scripts. Hand in your share

certificates with a Demat Request form. When you want to

securities.

No bad deliveries. The settlement cycle is faster. You do not lose out on market

                                        MARKETING

3.1 Definition:

Marketing is an activity, set of institutions, and processes for creating, communicating,

delivering, and exchanging offerings that have value for customers, clients, partners, and

society at large.

3.2 Scope of marketing:

        Marketing research:

Through marketing research work detailed and reliable information of different aspects of

marketing is available. Such information is useful for planning and decision making with

regards to marketing activities.

        Product Planning and Development:

The product must be as per the needs and expectation of the customer. A marketing company

has to bring suitable modifications in its existing products line.

        Pricing:

Fixing of price is a delicate and responsible function. If the prices are high it may affect

market demand adversely. Similarly, profit margin goes down when prices fixed are too

slow. Market competition, market demand, consumer psychology and availability of

substitutes are some of the factors which need careful consideration.

                                                                                               50

CHAPTER 5: MARKETING STRATEGIES OF SBBJ

                                                         57
MARKETING STRATEGY OF STATE BANK OF BIKANER AND JAIPUR

                          MARKETING STRATEGIES OF SBBJ

The marketing strategies adopted by SBBJ bank are as follows:

   a. Website:

They have their banks website wherein they continuously upload new schemes for various

segments of the society. When we see their website in the section of their products we can see

that they have made different links to differentiate between the products of different segments

and they also keep on adding new products or schemes whatever they come up with time to

time on their websites so that their existing customers can see who visit their online a/c from

time to time. Through this their existing customers can come to know what’s new with their

existing bank.

   b. Word-of-mouth:

This is the most important and very precious because the existing customers share their

experience of their banks with other people and if they are happy then they will tell others

good about their bank which helps in promotion. This has helped a lot to the bank because of

the happy customers.

   c. Hoarding, Posters and Digital Boards:

The banks have put up a lot of hoardings and boards in their branches which explain about

the schemes available with the bank and so that their existing customers can use it and spread

it amongst the other. The banks have digital boards through which they show their exchange

rates. They also keep continuously changing the rate of interest according to the RBI

instructions. This acted as good marketing strategy to attract and retain current customers by

making them aware of new products.

                                                                                               58
MARKETING STRATEGY OF STATE BANK OF BIKANER AND JAIPUR

   d. Campaign:

The banks hold campaigns in different colleges and schools so that they can convince the

students to open account with the bank. This is done every year in every school and colleges

turn by turn. This helps them to get customers for their bank every year. They get more than

50 customers every year for savings a/c. they even conduct campaigns in different in

companies and explain them about the different products which they have for them and

accordingly try to convince the company people to open accounts. This has also played an

important role for increasing the no. of customers for the bank.

   e. Donations:

The bank gives donations to various government schools. This year they donated water

purifiers to the government school for the benefit of the students and so that the health of the

students is good. This technique is successful to a great strength.

   f. Marketing Professionals (Marketing person)

The marketing department of the bank trains some employees to work on field and go door-

to-door for the publicity. The employees who are on field have to visit many people and

convince them to open up accounts in their banks. These marketing people also visit different

companies and meet the employees and give detailed presentation to the employees of the

company and try to convince the employees to open a/c’s in their bank.

   g. Pamphlets & Newspapers:

The bank provides their rate of interest of different schemes in the newspaper and also

distributes pamphlets. Publishing rates in the newspapers also act as a good technique of

marketing strategy in the making people aware about bank.

                                                                                               59
MARKETING STRATEGY OF STATE BANK OF BIKANER AND JAIPUR

                                       CONCLUSION

State bank of Bikaner and Jaipur is a subsidiary of SBI they don’t extensively perform

any marketing function. As per my conversation with branch manager of SBBJ whatever the

activities they perform is the policies of the Management. They don’t extensively perform

any major activity for marketing but yes they have some marketing strategies which they use

on branch level like distributing pamphlets to the people, campaigns in schools, colleges and

companies to sell their product and also use sales man for that purpose.

Nowadays marketing plays an important role not only with respect of this bank but each

and every company. None of the company or bank can survive without marketing because

these strategies are the one who help them to make the people aware that they are present in

the market to sell their products. To make places in people’s mind marketing is the best way

out and to manage that companies come out with different strategies for their product. There

are many strategies available but that does not mean that every strategy will be successful.

Success of strategies totally depends upon the product which you are producing and is

according to the customers.

The different strategies adopted by SBBJ were very good but the most successful was the ads

which they gave in newspapers and the donations which they made and also the campaigns.

                                                                                               60

  • 57. MARKETING STRATEGY OF STATE BANK OF BIKANER AND JAIPUR CHAPTER 5: MARKETING STRATEGIES OF SBBJ 57
  • 58. MARKETING STRATEGY OF STATE BANK OF BIKANER AND JAIPUR MARKETING STRATEGIES OF SBBJ The marketing strategies adopted by SBBJ bank are as follows: a. Website: They have their banks website wherein they continuously upload new schemes for various segments of the society. When we see their website in the section of their products we can see that they have made different links to differentiate between the products of different segments and they also keep on adding new products or schemes whatever they come up with time to time on their websites so that their existing customers can see who visit their online a/c from time to time. Through this their existing customers can come to know what’s new with their existing bank. b. Word-of-mouth: This is the most important and very precious because the existing customers share their experience of their banks with other people and if they are happy then they will tell others good about their bank which helps in promotion. This has helped a lot to the bank because of the happy customers. c. Hoarding, Posters and Digital Boards: The banks have put up a lot of hoardings and boards in their branches which explain about the schemes available with the bank and so that their existing customers can use it and spread it amongst the other. The banks have digital boards through which they show their exchange rates. They also keep continuously changing the rate of interest according to the RBI instructions. This acted as good marketing strategy to attract and retain current customers by making them aware of new products. 58
  • 59. MARKETING STRATEGY OF STATE BANK OF BIKANER AND JAIPUR d. Campaign: The banks hold campaigns in different colleges and schools so that they can convince the students to open account with the bank. This year they donated water purifiers to the government school for the benefit of the students and so that the health of the students is good. This technique is successful to a great strength. f. Marketing Professionals (Marketing person) The marketing department of the bank trains some employees to work on field and go door- to-door for the publicity. The employees who are on field have to visit many people and convince them to open up accounts in their banks. These marketing people also visit different companies and meet the employees and give detailed presentation to the employees of the company and try to convince the employees to open a/c’s in their bank. g. Pamphlets & Newspapers: The bank provides their rate of interest of different schemes in the newspaper and also distributes pamphlets. • 60. MARKETING STRATEGY OF STATE BANK OF BIKANER AND JAIPUR CONCLUSION State bank of Bikaner and Jaipur is a subsidiary of SBI they don’t extensively perform any marketing function. As per my conversation with branch manager of SBBJ whatever the activities they perform is the policies of the Management. They don’t extensively perform any major activity for marketing but yes they have some marketing strategies which they use on branch level like distributing pamphlets to the people, campaigns in schools, colleges and companies to sell their product and also use sales man for that purpose. Nowadays marketing plays an important role not only with respect of this bank but each and every company. None of the company or bank can survive without marketing because these strategies are the one who help them to make the people aware that they are present in the market to sell their products.
