What is THE All-on-4® TREATMENT CONCEPT?
All-on-4® Treatment Concept is the name of an effective and efficient technique using 4 dental implants in the upper or

Does the procedure hurt?

cases and afterwards there will be minimal swelling and soreness. Patients are often surprised at how little pain they
feel and how quickly they recover. We may recommend returning to work or their normal routine within 2-3 days, but
many patients return to work the very next day. It’s really dependent on how fast the patients recover.

How long does it take to complete All-on-4® TREATMENT CONCEPT?
After the initial consultation and initial work up, it normally takes just the one day before you are able to say goodbye to
your old removable denture or tired teeth and leave the practice with your new, fixed teeth. This is possible due to the
strategic positioning of the dental implants which makes potential, complicated surgery unnecessary. In addition, a
couple of follow up appointments are typically necessary.
How long does it take to recover from the procedure?
Patients are often surprised at how little pain they feel and how quickly they recover. Two to three days is usually
recommended to relax and adjust to your new smile before returning to work, however many patients feel fine and
return to work the next day.

Though cost varies by dentist, the average cost of an All-on-4® Treatment Concept is approximately $21,000-$27,000 per
jaw. You may have seen adverts for less, but use caution. Sometimes the lower cost is due to dentists who are not very

Is age a concern?
Occasionally, older patients express concern that their age may prevent them from enjoying the benefits of dental
implants. However, health is more of a determining factor than age. If you’re healthy enough to have a tooth extracted,
you’re probably healthy enough to receive dental implants. We have patients into their 80’s and 90’s who have had the
All-on-4 treatment done and they are eating better and smiling.
I’ve been told I can’t have fixed implant teeth without bone grafting, is that that case with the All-on-4® Treatment
Concept?
The concept of the All-on-4® Treatment is based on angling the dental implants at such a degree as to connect with as
much jaw bone as possible. This allows for fewer dental implants, which requires less bone and reduces the need for
bone grafting. So for many patients, bone grafting is not necessary because the dental implant and bone can be

dentures on a fixed arch with four implants was developed, and trademarked by Nobel Biocare. But be aware, some
dental practice websites claim that they use Nobel Biocare products for the All-on-4® Treatment Concept when in fact
they don’t.
Can this be done with other products other than Nobel Biocare’s?

What is a dental implant?
