• Trusted Digital Repository (TDR)
• Launched in 2015 – funded by HEA and IRC
• Research consortium with staff based at RIA, TCD, and MU
• Preserve Ireland’s social and cultural heritage data
• Active management of digital content over time to ensure its
ongoing access
• Over 30 Members (Higher Education Institutes, Libraries and
County Councils, Cultural Heritage Institutions, Community
Archives)

3. Value of DRI to Researchers
• Data sharing and long-term preservation of research
• Enhanced discoverability for research data and digital collections
• Support for best practice in Open Access, Open Research, FAIR data sharing
• Training and education programme, outreach events, access to DRI network
• Access to a wealth of research data sets and cultural heritage data

4. DRI Early Career Research Award
• Grants a bursary of €500 for an original
piece of research informed by collections
in DRI
• Opens to applications on 31 July 2021
and closes on 30 Sept 2021

digital archive of the impact of the Atlantic
Philanthropies grantees on the island of Ireland

and artificial intelligence to digitise handwritten
documents from the 19th century
