The cardiac rehabilitation program aims to improve heart health through risk factor modification, exercise training, and education. The major goals are to reduce future heart disease risks, improve heart strength and function, lower cholesterol and blood pressure, and enhance fitness and stress management. The program provides medical evaluations, exercise sessions monitored by ECG, diet counseling, yoga, and education to help patients better manage their condition. It is led by a team of cardiologists, surgeons, dieticians, physiotherapists, and other staff.

6. Cardiac Rehab Program in
Brief
A complete medical evaluation to identify your needs and limitations. The
Cardiac Rehab Consultant uses this information to plan a rehabilitation
program for you and help you set goals and improve your quality of life.
During each session your ECG, heart rate and blood pressure are
monitored by a Doctor. You learn how to check your heart rate and your
level (intensity) of activity.
Counseling and education to help you understand your condition and how
to manage it.
Consultation with a dietician to create a healthy eating plan. If you smoke, you
may get counseling on how to stop. Counseling may also help you cope with
depression, anger and stress during your recovery.
